Going to school
We should always be very careful while crossing the road or walking along the road to avoid being hit by a car, bicycle or motorcycle.
Crossing the road
- Before crossing the road, stop and listen.
- Look right, look left, look right again, if there are no motor vehicles coming cross the road quickly but do not run.
- Where the road has a zebra crossing please use it. A zebra crosing is also called a pedestrian crossing.
- Walk on the provided foot path.
- You can also cross the road at the traffic lights.
Traffic lights
- Red light means stop to vehicles, and people can then cross the road. Red for peole also means stop and motor vehicles can drive off.
- Orange/amber means get ready to go.
- Green means go to vehicles, People should not try to cross the road.
- Never play on the road as this may cause accidents and you might get hurt.
- Never get off a moving vehilcle.
- Because you might fall and seriously hurt.
- Pedestrians travel on foot and should never cross the road at a corner.
